Saturday Work
Published by Spanish Pinay on Monday, February 2, 2009 at 12:53 AMIt was a very tiring day. I woke up earlier than I normally do on a weekend to go to our apartment and receive a couple of furnitures we ordered. It was a long walk from where we currently leave now... probably around 30mins walk. The delivery time was set to 10am. I arrived 15mins late so I called the contact person for the delivery and to my dismay, they told me they would be arriving around 1 or 1:30pm instead. What a pain. They could have called me before and inform me of the new time so I didn't have to wake up early!
Anyways, since I was already there and had nothing else to do, I thought I could start painting. I was having second thoughts about it... I really like to paint with hubby but he's sick so he had to stay on the bed. On the other hand, I really want to see how the paint would look like on the wall. I was dilly-dallying for a long while undecided of what to do. Hubby called me to see how things are going and I told him about the situation. Hubby suggested that since I am already in the downtown, I can probably check out the store to get the stool and glasses of wine we saw the other day that are on sale. I thought it was a good idea so I agreed and head out. Another disappointment. The stools are gone and the glasses of wine that were left have little damages on them... not worth to buy. So, with nothing else to do again, I continued shopping. I ended up buying some apparels for me :-D Now, that's a little consolation for the day that is not going quite well.
I went back to the apartment with hands full. It was ony a little bit past 12nn. More than an hour wait still. I started to stare at the wall that I am supposed to paint and contemplating hard if I should go for it or not.
I started to get bored waiting so finally, I decided to just paint. I prepared the things and rolled my sleeves up. We wanted the wall to painted dark red...but when I opened the can of paint, it was more of a pink than a red.... my eyeballs almost fell on the floor. I thought it'll get dark once it dried out on the wall so I still went for it. If it won't turn out good, we can just paint it over, no biggie (trying hard to convince myself it'll be ok). While painting, I didn't think it was going well. I wasn't liking what I am seeing... but what the heck, I still continued. Alas, it was already almost 2pm and I got a call from the delivery man... they finally arrived. I stopped painting and left the wall looking miserably.
Oh well, I'm sure we'll be able to fix that :-D The first wall we painted didn't look so well the first time we did it but after series of retouches, it was quite good (the power of positive thinking).
Time to meet the delivery men.
To my surprise, they didn't just deliver the furnitures, but they also assembled them. Both book shelf and the tv module were actually pre-assembled already although, they still had to attach some other small parts on the tv module. That was a relief. I thought we'll be doing all the hard work. The TV module is really pretty. I liked it a lot. The book shelf is also not bad, but it had some cracks on it so in the end, I asked for it to be changed. The company agreed so they took it back. Here's how the tv module looked. It is really lovely :)

I love the TV module too! It is sooo sooo nice, I can't wait to see it in person. Today it will be : ) . I kind of like the color of the wall as it is on the pic already, but I think it will get even prettier when it darkens a bit and when it is all done, after repainting a bit. Nice work hon! I wish i was there to help as well, next time hopefully.
